How Can Therapy Help

How Can Therapy Help

We may all struggle at some time in our life; whether that’s with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, or bullying, or have a particular situation / relationship that you need support with.  We can experience trauma, live with abuse, and suffer bereavement and loss at all ages.  We can often feel like we have no support, or wonder / worry about what people may say or think of us for feeling the way we do.  That’s when counselling can help!

By talking with me you can explore your emotions, feelings and thoughts, and consider your choices and decisions without judgement.  Together we can find a simple, effective way for you to move forward.  There is no such thing as a big or small issue when it comes to therapy, it’s all relative to how it makes you feel, to how it affects your life – if you need to talk then talk; you’re worth it.

I know it can feel scary and nerve-wracking talking to a complete stranger, but don’t worry you’re in safe hands and together we can explore what’s happening at a pace to suit you in an environment that is safe, quiet & comfortable.  To take that first step of recognising you need support, to making the appointment, and then attending your first session is brave, it takes courage, and I consider it a privilege that you share your thoughts, feelings and emotions with me.

The sections within the website are there to provide you with a bit more information; ‘What is Counselling’ – explains what counselling is and provides further information on the counselling sessions. The ‘Meet Joy’ section is about me, and the ‘Therapy Room’ section has pictures of the therapy room; sometimes it’s nice to be familiar with where you’re going to be.  Details on how to contact me can be found in the ‘Contact’ section.

If you would like further information or to book an appointment then please go to the ‘Contact’ page & complete the form, or email directly on joymsheehan@me.com.  You can also call/text 07704 297999.
